ABSTRACT:
It has been recently argued that Iguanodon atherfieldensis pertains to the distinct monotypic genus Mantellisaurus. Here we advocate that another species of Iguanodon,I.bernissartensis, also falls under this recently created genus. The monophyly of Iguanodon has been the matter of debate and we show that further studies will be necessary to clearify internal relashionships within the two aforementioned genuses.
