Dear Freddy,
to my pleasure I found your request about German plannings and ambitions on the Iguanodons of Bernissart during the German occupation regime in Belgium between 1914 and 1918 and my research activities about the subject. A detailed documentation about this fascinating subject of the history of World War One, of international science relations and on the discipline of palaeontology was published under the following title:

Christoph Roolf: Dinosaurier-Skelette als Kriegsziel: Kulturgutraubplanungen, Besatzungspolitik und die deutsche Paläontologie in Belgien im Ersten Weltkrieg, in: Berichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte 27, Heft 1 (2004), S. 5–26.

An overview in English you will find under the title:
Christoph Roolf: German scientists in Belgium at the First World War between occupation policy and planning of plundering cultural assets – the case example of palaeontology, in: Serge Jaumain/Michaël Amara/Benoît Majerus/Antoon Vrints (Hrsg.): Une guerre totale?

Also the Belgian newspaper «Sudpresse – La Meuse » published an article under the headline « La rafle avortée de nos iguanodons” at 10.4.2004.

I can send you some copies of the articles by post, if you have interest (please send me in this case your post address to my private E-Mail-address roolf@uni-duesseldorf.de).
I hope to read from you. With best regards,
Christoph Roolf
