	On a découvert tout d'abord en Jordanie en 1943 des ossements d'ailes, mais le matériel à été ensuite perdu, pour être redécouvert en 1995, c'est à dire 52 ans plus tard. Le matériel que l'on possède aujourd'hui de Arambourgiania c'est une vertèbre. Arambourgiania est l'un des plus grands ptérosaures du Crétacé supérieur. Sa taille est estimé à 11 m d'envergure, même si des études plus récentes laisse penser qu'il faisait un peu plus que 11 m d'envergure. Initialement, Arambourgiania devait se nommé Titanopteryx, mais ce nom était déjà donné pour un insecte et il a été reclassé Arambourgiania par Nessov et Borkin en 1989.

== Reconstitutions de la vie de ce reptile volant ==

Il vivait au Moyen-Orient au Crétacé supérieur, c'était le plus grand ptérosaures de sa région. Il devait se nourrir de poisson qu'il pêchait en mer, et peut-être aussi vivait-il en colonie?
